Our Values and Editorial Themes

Cool Companies is For Entrepreneurs By Entrepreneurs™

More than journalists, we’re entrepreneurs, just like you. We are learning the same lessons you are and understand you need to travel the entrepreneurial path or help other entrepreneurs travel that same path to really understand and appreciate what it means to be an entrepreneur and think like one.

Collaboration

The best resource for an entrepreneur is another experienced entrepreneur. There’s little other material available on how to grow a business. So, our approach for this magazine is to work together with you. As you’ll see in our new set of articles, we are going to give you the platform and, hopefully, make the reader feel they’re in a room listening to good entrepreneurs discuss a topic.

Innovation and enlightened leadership

A pure focus on profits is for the Dark Ages. Let’s explore being enlightened and building enlightened companies. Let’s learn from companies using a “triple bottom line” – people (employees, customers, community), profits and planet. And, let’s take it to the next step to include innovation and passion.

Discovery

Building a company is far more grey than black and white. In this respect, our articles often have no final answers, just like many conversations among entrepreneurs. We are explorers, all of us. We want to learn from each other so that we can grow and become better entrepreneurs. It’s fun too.

A catalyst, not an expert

If we are doing our job right, an experienced entrepreneur will learn something new in each Cool Companies issue. Our role is to be a catalyst in helping entrepreneurs share their wisdom with each other, be a filter to save you time, and be a facilitator to promote networking among entrepreneurs.

Celebration

We are going to celebrate entrepreneurship, and we are not going to be afraid to talk about the bad stuff that sometimes happens along the way either. Let’s make entrepreneurship more of a science and increase the success rates of businesses.

Freedom to be Yourself

Good entrepreneurship is an art. It’s self expression and a vehicle for personal growth. An enlightened entrepreneur is passionate about their business, they follow their intuition and do what they believe in, and they want to make a meaningful impact on people and the world.
